Whether you're a solo traveler, a yoga enthusiast, or simply looking for an unforgettable escape, this guide will help you make the most of your time on this magical island.

Days 1-4: Uluwatu – Stunning Cliffs and World-Class Surfing

Start your adventure in Uluwatu, where Bali’s dramatic cliffs meet the sea. Uluwatu is famous for its surf scene and breathtaking sunsets. Spend your mornings exploring Padang Padang Beach, and in the evenings, head to Single Fin for stunning views of the sun setting over the horizon. Don't forget to visit Uluwatu Temple, perched on the edge of a cliff, offering panoramic views of the ocean.

For food, Suka Espresso serves up excellent breakfast options, perfect for fueling your day. Uluwatu is a great place to relax and enjoy the natural beauty before continuing your journey.

Days 5-7: Canggu – The Heart of Bali’s Hipster Scene

Next, make your way to Canggu, a laid-back coastal town with a thriving beach culture. Known for its surfing, Canggu is also home to some of Bali’s most Instagrammable cafés. Start your day with a smoothie bowl at Shady Shack or Nude, and spend the rest of your time exploring the beaches or enjoying live music at Old Man’s or La Brisa.

Canggu is the perfect place to experience Bali’s more modern side, with plenty of spots to chill, surf, and watch the sun go down over the beach.

Days 8-14: Ubud – A Week at Firefly Yoga Retreat

For a change of pace, head inland to Ubud, Bali’s cultural and spiritual heart. I’ve always wanted to try a retreat, and Firefly Yoga Retreat exceeded all expectations. Everyone arrives on the same day (Sunday), which makes it easy to form connections with fellow travelers. If you’re traveling solo, this is the perfect retreat—most participants are solo travelers, so it's an incredible chance to meet like-minded people.

The retreat offers a well-rounded program. Daily yoga sessions help you find your balance, while workshops teach you about natural medicines, Balinese offering baskets, and local traditions. You can even enjoy a cooking class and a session where we learned to make chocolate from scratch. The experience was both relaxing and enriching, offering a little bit of everything.

And if you’re looking for more great meals, Wild Vegan in Ubud is a must-visit. I loved it so much that I went twice during the week!

Days 15-16: East Bali – Virgin Beach

After a week of wellness in Ubud, it’s time to relax by the ocean again. Head east to Virgin Beach, one of Bali’s best-kept secrets. With its white sand and crystal-clear waters, it’s the perfect spot for sunbathing and swimming. The local warungs (small restaurants) along the beach serve fresh seafood, and you can spend your time here enjoying the quiet and beauty of East Bali.

Days 17-18: Amed – A Diver’s Paradise

Next, continue up the coast to Amed, a quiet fishing village known for its incredible diving and snorkeling opportunities. Whether you’re a seasoned diver or a beginner, Amed’s underwater world is not to be missed. I spent my time exploring the USAT Liberty shipwreck, which is teeming with marine life. If you prefer to stay closer to shore, snorkeling is also an option.

After a day of underwater exploration, treat yourself to dinner at Warung Enak, a local favorite for its delicious, freshly prepared meals.

Day 19: Lovina – Dolphins and Waterfalls

From Amed, make your way to Lovina for a chance to witness Bali’s famous dolphins. The early morning dolphin tours are a highlight of any trip to Bali, and watching these creatures play in the calm waters was unforgettable.

On your way back down to southern Bali, make sure to stop at Gitgit Waterfall, one of Bali’s most scenic spots. You’ll also pass through Jatiluwih Rice Terraces, a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its lush, terraced rice fields that stretch as far as the eye can see.

Day 20: Seminyak – A Busy, Bustling Last Day

To round off your trip, head to Seminyak for your final night. While Seminyak is known for its stylish boutiques, beach clubs, and restaurants, I found it a bit too crowded for my taste after the peacefulness of Ubud and Amed. While the brunch at Kynd Community was a highlight, I wished I had chosen somewhere quieter to end my Bali adventure.

Day 21: Departure Day

As your journey comes to an end, take some time to reflect on the incredible experiences Bali has to offer. Whether you found your zen in Ubud, explored Bali’s rich marine life, or just relaxed on the beach, this island offers something for everyone. After three unforgettable weeks, it’s time to pack up and head home—but Bali will always be waiting for your return.
